Quality vs. Quantity - Branding Content

Written by Abby Smith - Social Producer and Director for Ozone Films

It’s easy to neglect posting something because you have imposter syndrome or you want to perfect a post before it’s published. This is why I like to think of social media posts as small action steps that help reach larger goals. And knowing your goals can help you to decide whether you should put more emphasis on quality or quantity. Do you want to increase brand awareness? Do you need to make immediate sales? Or would you like to connect with other creators?

Here are some things to consider:

  1. To increase brand awareness, you are trying to get your product or service ingrained in the minds of your potential customers. Obviously you won’t want to poorly display your brand, but increasing your posting schedule may come at the expense of decreasing the amount of time you put into your content.

  2. Can you outsource? Maybe you’re trying to do it all, but don’t have the time. As a business owner or marketing exec., it can be hard to let go of your responsibilities, but it’s often necessary so you can focus on the bigger picture.

  3. Do you already know what type of posts work well for you? If yes, then put more effort into creating more of those posts, even if it means posting less. Consistent, high-quality posts will produce consistent results because a stronger message and emotional pull will always win.

With all that being said, balance truly is key. It’ll take trial and error to find what works best for you, so start tracking those analytics and don’t forget to engage with your audience to see what type of branding content they like.

HAPPY CREATING!
